Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Wheat Ridge Residents Directory receives, why it is used, and what choices are available. The reference has no account system and does not keep government records. Search boxes are powered by outside providers, so information entered into one of them follows that provider's own terms as well as this policy.

Data You Give Us Directly

If you type a name, phone number, or address into a search box, the information is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Wheat Ridge Residents Directory does not keep a copy of that search on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the message and any details you choose to include are received so a reply can be sent. Avoid sending sensitive identifiers unless the recipient has specifically asked for them through a secure official channel.

Data We Gather Automatically

Ordinary hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, referral information, and timestamps. This technical data can be reviewed in aggregate to keep the pages available and understand which resources are used. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where applicable, advertising measurement. The site does not use those logs to create an official Wheat Ridge resident record.

How We Use the Data

Information received directly is used to operate the reference, respond to messages, protect the service, measure general page use, and improve links or explanations. Search providers may use submitted terms under their own policies. The site does not sell a government roll, amend an assessor entry, or create a replacement for a county or state record.

Colorado's Open Records Act, C.R.S. sections 24-72-201 through 24-72-206, governs access duties for public custodians, not the operators of this private reference. The Colorado Privacy Act, C.R.S. sections 6-1-1301 and following, may apply based on the data practice and statutory scope, but it does not erase a public record from the Jefferson County Assessor, recorder, court, voter, or vital-record custodian.

Links to Other Websites

Pages link to the Jefferson County Assessor, Aumentum land records, Colorado voter and court tools, Wheat Ridge archives, libraries, FamilySearch, USPS, and other outside resources. Opening a link takes you to the outside service's own privacy notice and terms. Availability, cookies, forms, pricing, and data handling are controlled by that service, not by Wheat Ridge Residents Directory.

Who May Receive Data

Search information may be visible to the provider that runs the selected search box, the hosting and security services that deliver these pages, and analytics or advertising vendors used on the service when applicable. Operators may disclose information when needed to respond to a lawful request, protect the service, investigate abuse, or comply with law. This reference does not publish a private message or search history as a resident directory.

How We Protect Information

Reasonable administrative and technical steps are used to limit access to messages and protect the site. No internet transmission or storage system is guaranteed secure. Do not submit Social Security numbers, driver-license numbers, financial-account data, medical details, passwords, or protected address information through a general contact message. Use the official custodian when a record request needs identity or eligibility proof.

Users Under 18

The reference is not intended for children to submit personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent data can use the Contact page to ask about that message. Colorado voter preregistration information has its own statutory confidentiality rules, and this site does not provide a workaround for them.

Your Colorado Privacy Choices

Where the Colorado Privacy Act applies, rights can include access, correction, deletion, a copy of covered data, and opting out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling decisions. Colorado recognizes Global Privacy Control as a universal opt-out signal under C.R.S. section 6-1-1306(1)(a)(IV) and 4 CCR 904-3 rule 5.07. Enable the signal in each browser or device where it is wanted, and use the Contact page for a request about information held by this reference.

These choices do not automatically remove a public parcel, deed, court, voter, or vital record from its original custodian. The Colorado Address Confidentiality Program and confidential-voter procedures are separate safety channels. The Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. sections 1681 through 1681x, also has its own rules and is not a general deletion path for public records.

Updates to This Policy

This policy may change when the search provider, hosting practice, Colorado law, or the structure of the reference changes. A revised version will be posted on this page with its updated wording. Continued use after an update means the revised policy governs future use. Questions can be sent through the Contact page.
